Report on the Regulation (EC) No 2173/2005 of 20 December 2005 on the establishment of a FLEGT licensing scheme for imports of timber into the European Community Annual synthesis report for the year 2016. The Report is available HERE

This report provides an analysis of the first annual reports submitted by the Member States on the implementation of the FLEGT licencing scheme for 2016 and covers the period 15 November to 31 December 2016. The analysis provides a state of play of the implementation of the FLEGT Regulation across the EU and outlines conclusions and next steps. In line with Article 8 of the FLEGT Regulation, Member States are required to submit by 30 April annual reports12 on the implementation of the FLEGT licensing scheme, covering the previous calendar year. The annual reports13 submitted by Member States provide an important mechanism for the Commission to monitor the implementation of the FLEGT Regulation.
